The Silver Palm Wellness Resort is a 4-star hotel located in the Suan Luang district, northeast of downtown Bangkok. It is approximately 300 meters, a 5-minute walk, from Hua Mak station on the Airport Express line, which is just 15 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport. By taxi, the fastest route from the airport to the hotel takes approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Due to its strategic location, the hotel offers a serene environment with no noisy bars, restaurants, or stores nearby. However, if you read my visit to the Suan Luang Rama IX Park, you will discover hidden gems that go beyond what you might initially imagine. This hotel is ideal for those transiting before or after visiting Koh Chang, but it’s also a great choice for spending a few days relaxing or exploring Bangkok.
(Airport Express line – Hua Mak station)
If you take a taxi, make sure the driver is familiar with the location, as many drivers may miss the street and end up turning around before locating it. The best approach, if possible, is to either show the location on Google Maps or provide the street name, which is 69 Sa Ngop Suk, Rama 9 Road in Suan Luang District.
The Silver Palm Wellness Resort offers 89 rooms for short- and long-term stay guests. It features a restaurant, a spa, a fitness center, a 20-meter-long swimming pool, and a steam sauna—everything you might need in a hotel for relaxation.
I stayed in a Silver Palm Deluxe room, which I will review below, but you have the choice between Studios, Superior Studios, One-Bed Residences, and Two-Bed Residences.
Only the Silver Palm Deluxe rooms are located in the main building; the Studios and Residences are in the second building, 30 meters from the reception. You just have to cross their parking lot.
All the rooms, studios, and residences have an independent air conditioning system. They all include free Wifi, a TV with a large choice of cable channels, a private balcony, a desk with a chair, a kettle with coffee and tea facilities, 2 daily free bottles of water, a fridge, a safe box, 2 bathrobes with slippers, and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower or just a shower. There is also a set of free amenities in the bathroom.
Silver Palm Deluxe rooms:
They are the “smallest,” which are already very spacious. Some of them have a view of the swimming pool. On top of that, they’re the only rooms with a large balcony with a sofa and with shades to get more privacy.
Inside the room, there is a king-size bed and a comfortable chair with leg support. The bathroom is big enough with a big bathtub and a shower inside, a hairdryer is stored in the wardrobe.
The bathroom has a glass window facing the bedroom, but for more privacy, it is possible to draw the curtains from the bedroom. The toilet is located in the corner of the bathroom, away from the view.
Studios:
Studios are bigger than the Silver Palm Deluxe rooms but they are cheaper and located in the second building. They are available with a king-size bed or twin beds, a sofa, and a small walk-in closet. They have a small kitchen with a sink, a small induction hob, a fridge, a small dining table for 2 persons, and a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The modern bathroom includes a shower.
Superior Studios:
They have the same amenities as the Studios but are a bit bigger, with a bigger and L-shaped sofa, a bigger kitchen, a bigger walk-in closet, and a dining table for 4 persons. Also available with a king-size bed or twin beds.
One Bed Residence:
More spacious than the Superior Studios, the Residence is like a Suite. The Residence has the same amenities as the Superior Studios but it’s like a small apartment. The bedroom is separated from the living room and the kitchen. It’s available only with a king-size bed, and the modern bathroom includes a bathtub with a shower inside.
Two Bed Residence:
It’s the biggest Suite with its 95 m2; it’s a small apartment with a big kitchen and a dining table for 4 persons, a spacious living room with an L-shape sofa and a smart TV, and 2 bedrooms with their own TV. They are also available with king-size or twin beds.
The garden is a small oasis with its 20-meter-long swimming pool surrounded by loungers. Free towels are available at the reception.
Near the swimming pool, there is a small fitness centre with free access and open 24/7 with a couple of treadmills, one bike trainer, one cross trainer, a rawer, one multi-exercise machine, a set of dumbbells, one barbell, one curl bar with a small set of weights.
The breakfast is served at the Edge Café. The breakfast is quite basic but enough. There is a daily selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, warm Asian and Western food, a few pastries, toasts, fried eggs, omelettes, coffee, tea, warm and cold milk, and juices.
If you need to check out or leave early in the morning but have already paid for your breakfast, you will get a Western breakfast box. Please ask at the reception the evening before.
You can get all kinds of drinks at the Edge Café, and I recommend their Power Drinks. Made of fresh fruits and vegetables for some of them, it changes from the common smoothies and fruit shakes you can find everywhere. You can also get snacks at the pool but also have your lunch and dinner.
There is a Wellness center that I didn’t try where they are proposing beauty and health services but they can also provide medical therapies thanks to their affiliation with the CH9 Hospital.
You may not notice it, but there is a Steam Sauna in the men’s restroom near the reception. The access is free, and there are showers as well as lockers.
